Book Review: Practical Origami

Book Review: Practical Origami

Are you one of those people who hear the word Origami and your brain immediately melts?

For some reason all of those folds, unfolds, wraps and tucks makes my brain seize up and turn OFF.

But I’m into self-torture these days…err… I mean challenging myself to do things I normally wouldn’t do.

So I thought, “Why not?”

Besides, it’s PRACTICAL which means I can create USEFUL things and not little oddly shaped animals that are meant to sit on a shelf and collect dust.

This doesn’t look too hard, now does it?

This little gift bag looks adorable.

I’m going to make one…

TaDa! That wasn’t so hard.

Well, OK, there was ONE failed attempt but I realized that my turning the paper as I folded was confusing me and I started over.

I love this little gift bag.

The only thing I would wish for with this book is that it were bound in a way that would let it lay flat. It’s hard to follow the instructions while trying to get the pages to stay flat.

And the cool thing about using your own paper is that you can make things coordinate. Like this Back to School Music Homework Notebook I created earlier in the week.

Well, almost.

You know, I love this little bag so much and I have a ton of scrapbooking paper here… I think I’m going to start making these little bags for the jewelry I sell in my etsy shop. Wouldn’t it be great to receive your purchase in a cute little bag like this? I know I would LOVE it!
