So as you probably know I’m on the road and in Chicago for the Craft and Hobby Association Convention and Trade Show.
I got a chance to attend the Innovations Sneak Peek event where the HOT 20 new products are shown to the media and buyers. Lucky me!
I thought I’d share a few photos of some of my favorite things I saw today.
First up is the Stkr-it. An image that looks much like a QR code is printed on fabric and then the fabric is sewn into a quilt or added to a scrap book page. The Innovative part of this is that you can record a story about the page or quilt and then anyone who scans the code can listen to your story, see photos or even watch a video. Very fun!

There were two products from Tim Holtz that I liked. This first one is “Mirrored”. A thin sheet of mirror that can be die cut AND embossed.

And then there is the Distress Stains in Metallic. I really want to try to layer this with some encaustics.

At first these Basket Frames reminded me of the fabric rope baskets from the 1980′s but then I saw they came in all sorts of shapes and sizes. I think there could be lots of great mixed media uses, don’t you?
