Yup, I’m sick. And I have been for just over two weeks now. I finally went to the doctor yesterday afternoon and got a diagnosis – acute upper respiratory infection AND acute sinus infection – and some antibiotics.
I haven’t created, made or otherwise arted in many days.
It’s a sad state of affairs and I’m in need of some comfort food.

What is it about being sick that makes me want soup? Is it hardwired into our brains or is it just something to do with modern advertising and cute little red cheeked children?
I’m not sure but I thought I’d share 4 of my favorite soups with you today. You know, just in case you want to make some and send it to Ohio for me.

Crockpot 15 Bean Soup with Turkey Kielbasa
What comfort food do you want when you are sick? Do you tend to want soup too?

Ground Turkey Vegetable Soup and Cheese
And just in case you wanted to make some of these soups for yourself – here are links to my Corn Bread and Buttermilk Drop Biscuits. Because they go well with any of the soups above.
Now to brew up a big batch of ginger tea. :)

so sorry that you are sick my dear!! and yes artless is awful too! yes yes I am a soup gal too and so is my hubby when we are sick! yours are a lot like the ones I make too. they all sound yummy! I will save those for sure!! I would certainly bring some over but am way too busy trying to keep up with my one armed ole man and keeping him out of trouble and cooking and doing all his usual chores too! like the dishes…yuck!!! oh well it may be a long 8 weeks I’m afraid and I am bk to work Mon too!! so hope you feel better quick like! 2 weeks already is surely long enough!! sending hugs and healing thoughts!! :))
I’m so sorry that you aren’t feeling well and are “artless” for the moment.
The Cheesy Ham and Potato Soup sounds wonderful! I assume it will freeze well?
Hope you feel better real soon and get all artsy again!
Thank you for the well wishes Sharon. Being sick is one thing… being artless is much worse. :) I imagine it would freeze well, but to tell the truth, there is never much left over here to freeze!
