Crafting in NE Ohio – My Weekend Craft Supply Haul

Crafting in NE Ohio - My Weekend Craft Supply Haul

My husband and I have been on a tight budget the past couple of months so I haven’t been spending money on craft supplies like I usually do (and that’s ok because, really… I don’t need any more craft supplies. But don’t tell him!). But this weekend he needed to go to Tractor Supply Company and I decided I needed to go along as there were a couple of items I’ve had on my “To Make” list.

I bought an egg carton, a chick feeder and several washers in different sizes and finishes. Yes, an odd collection but then, I’m an odd woman. :)

While I love going to Tractor Supply, Feed, and Hardware Stores (the older the better) I had to type the word “Bead” into my Sprint Navigation as we were leaving Tractor Supply and see what I came up with.

Only a couple of miles away was Edy Beady Bead Shoppe. We decided to check it out.

The place was hopping! There were two parties going on and other people working on projects, but even thought it’s a small space, it wasn’t overwhelming. Somehow it still felt warm and inviting. I just felt like I could go right in and look around and no one minded one bit.

The woman, who I assume was Edy the owner, would pass by now and again and ask me if I needed anything, or to make sure I checked out the goodies in the drawers but basically I was able to explore, with my husband, to my hearts’ content.

The woman who rung up my sale (again, I think it was Edy) seemed like a “sister goddess” to me. Another creative soul who just wants to share her love of creativity with anyone who wants to learn.

I bump up against people like that now and again. My spirit bumps into their spirit and my spirit says, “hey, I recognize you!”

You’ve done that too. I know you have. ;)

Anyway, I purchased the beads and toggle above and I can’t wait to get started on the project I have in mind.

And if you’re in the area of Belden Village I recommend you look up Edy Beady’s.

    Hey Vicky!

I was born in Akron, 1962
Lived in Olmsted Falls about 91/2 years 1970-1980, though there was a year spent in England ’75-76.
Then various places in Cleveland until I left in 1995 – the weekend they opened the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame!

I have lots of family there including a Senator & a former Governor!

I love that area for so many things. I really miss lilacs!

    Thanks for asking.
