Fabulous Friday – 3 Fabulous Quilt Tutorials

Welcome to FABULOUS FRIDAY! It’s a day where I share 3 of my  favorite projects from the web this week and thank my top three referrers (3 fellow bloggers) for the traffic they sent my way in the past 7 days.

Fabulous Friday - 3 Fabulous Quilt Tutorials

I love quilts, have since I was a little girl. When it was nap time and I didn’t want to nap because I wanted to keep playing, I calmed myself down by tracing the outline of the quilt pieces with my little finger … next thing I knew I was waking up and ready to play again. My grandmother had the craziest of crazy quilts and there were always little tiny triangles and squares embellished with embroidery thread. So many little bits to trace.

Anyway, as the weather is cooling down I’m thinking about quilts (and naps) often. So I’m sharing a few fabulous tutorials I found on the web this week. Tutorials that I’m going to give a shot at and thought maybe you’d want to know about them too.

I love the above quilt and how nice it would be to use up some of my fabric stash on such a bright and happy piece of art. You can see how easy it is to make over on Film in the Fridge in this post An Updated Blocks and Strips Quilt

Oh how I adore this wonky nine patch!

While I love quilts I don’t have the kind of mind that works well with lots of precise placing and measuring. As Jera from Quilting in the Rain says, ” there are no precise measurements; simply cut, stack, whack and sew!” Now THAT is my kind of quilt!

You can find the tutorial over at the Moda Bake Shop Strawberry Fields Forever.

Fabulous Friday - 3 Fabulous Quilt Tutorials - Random Reflections

While this quilt has lots of straight lines and measuring the tutorial makes it look very doable. Again, the tutorial is over at the Moda Bake Shop – I think I need to start hanging out over there!

Random Reflections is the name of this quilt and you can see the tutorial by clicking on the title at the beginning of this sentence. How easy is that?

And finally, a BIG thank you to the 3 fellow bloggers who sent the most traffic my way this past week:
