Out and About in Ohio

Out and About in Ohio, Boston Mills Art Fest, Marker Magic

Out and About in Ohio

It may have been 103° on Saturday but you know if there is an art show around I’m sure to be out and about. The Boston Mills Art Fest was totally worth a few hours of crazy heat. As usual there were a great number of very talented artists. I thought I’d share some of my very favorites with you.

Above is a photo of W. Michael Winston in his Marker Magic booth. I adored his art that combines color and flowers. You can find out more about him on his website – Marker Magic. Warning though, the website does have music… one of my pet peeves. But I liked Mr Winston and his art so much that I’ll forgive him. :)

More color from Fine Art Fiber. I love the organic flow of the first photo and then the graphic quality of the second. You HAVE to check out this website to see more. Really.

Out and About in Ohio, Boston Mills Art Fest, Tatooo Dreams

I had a really hard time getting good photos of this booth as it was on the outside edge of one of the tents. A mix of bright sunshine and tungsten lights made my camera a little crazy.

This is from the same artist, it’s a beaded curtain. I LOVE it! Tattoo Dreams has a gallery here, an etsy store, and a blog. You really have to check out their photos. So much better than the ones I got!

Are you noticing a theme in my favorite artists? COLOR!

These fun pieces from Holly Sue Foss are so much fun!

And last, but not least, are the whimsical creations of Art Broad. Be sure to visit her site to see close up images of some of her work.

Longaberger Homestead, Frazeysburg, OH, Giant Longaberger basket

From the Boston Mills Art Fest we headed south to near Zanesville, OH to look at some equipment and when I noticed that we were going by the Longaberger Homestead I begged my husband to make a stop. I’ve only ever owned one teeny, tiny Longaberger basket but I wanted to stop by and check it out anyway. This GIANT basket was the biggest reason I wanted to stop. See how it towers over the one story building nearby? GIANT!
