In case you haven’t noticed I’ve been playing around with weekend posts the past few months. Trying to balance writing something I want to write with something YOU want to read.
I used to post recipes on Saturdays but in the summer we mostly eat grilled food. And how many times can I show you how to put olive oil, salt and pepper on sliced vegetables and grill them before you start throwing rotten tomatoes at me?
Besides, while I like to cook… I don’t LOVE it.
I’m not PASSIONATE about it.
So creating a recipe, taking photos and writing up something on a regular basis doesn’t work for me. Oh, I’ll post a recipe here and there but I don’t think it will be a regular thing.
Besides, photographing food is really, really hard. It sure has given me a new appreciation for people who do it all of the time. Sheeesh! Who knew?
And the week in review thing? Yeah, seems no one here was really into that.
SOOO on Saturdays I thought I’d like try a SPOTLIGHT post. Things I like, have bought, really want, made, or want to make. Fun things (and people) that I have found on the web that I think you might like too. As well as “Stuff I Did When I Wasn’t Here” to let you know where else you can find my ramblings, crafts or other stuff out on the big, wide web.

Do you remember these Handmade Soaps with a Toy Surprise Inside? The ladies over at The Sunshine Moms took that idea and created a Halloween Soap Dispenser version. I love it!!
I looked at that and thought, “Well, huh. What a great idea!”

Have you ever heard of Good Reads?
I set up an account this past week and kind of got sucked into rating a FEW of the books I’ve read.
I’ve been a big reader since I learned how. Nothing got me to behave faster as a rambunctious child than a promised trip to the library. I loved EVERYTHING about the library. LOVED.
When I got to around 4th or 5th grade I’d swipe my mother’s Gothic Romance novels and read them. She always complained because I often let the bookmark fall out and lost her place.
I remember her saying that she’d have to be careful about the content of the books after she found out I was reading them.
Of course I didn’t know what she meant by that at the time.
I haven’t been reading so much the past few years and I really miss it. I hope that Good Reads gets me reading again.

I shot a segment on Golden Opportunities back in June and because we turned off cable in the Spring I didn’t get to see it when it aired. I went looking for it on YouTube the other day and actually found it.
At the time we shot it I thought I had REALLY messed up. You know, embarrassed myself kind of messed up. But after watching I breathed a little sigh of relief. It’s a little shaky in places but unless you know what I intended to say you might not guess.

And in case you aren’t TOTALLY sick of reading what I have to write I’m writing for the Creative Income Blog once or twice a week. There, I’m writing more about the business end of things. I’ve been a creative business woman for quite a long time now and it’s fun to share some of what I have learned with people there.
