The Creative Goddess Week In Review

Trend Spotting at The Country Living Fair

Trend Spotting at the Country Living Fair

It’s been a rough week here in Vickiland. I’ve been sick for just over 3 weeks now but am finally on the mend. Aren’t antibiotics AWESOME?

I did stay pretty quiet and got some rest but I was also working here in the back end of my blog. Last year when I moved from typepad to wordpress I didn’t take the time to re-post all of my content. I had 345 posts sitting in drafts where you, my dear friends, couldn’t have access to them. So while I was lounging about I made a big dent in that stack and re-posted more than half of them. That meant re-posting photos, categorizing and tagging all of those posts, and in some cases even editing photos.

It took a LONG time.

I’m not finished yet but I did get all of the fall and Halloween projects up so that you’d have them at your disposal.

The Creative Goddess Week In Review

Here on the blog I started out the week by sharing that I’d discovered a new way (new to me, anyway) to get inspired to create in this post – A Surprising Way to Jumpstart Your Creativity. I mean, I know I have to clean but it never occurred to me do to it ON PURPOSE because I needed a spark of an idea.

Now I know that when I’m struggling for direction all I have to do is to start cleaning up a shelf or corner and my mind is off and running with an idea.

Card Making: 5 Fifteen Minute Cards to Make

Then I shared a round up post of 5 Fifteen Minute Cards to Make. I have so much content here, almost 1,000 posts, that sometimes it makes sense to round up some posts from a particular category and put them all in one place for some easy to find inspiration.

I also shared this round up type post:  Comfort Food for a Sick Creative Goddess – 4 of My Favorite Soup Recipes. Besides being sick, it won’t be long until cooler weather has me wanting to cook up some home made soup. These soups are filling, delicious and pretty healthy too!

Stuff I Did When I Wasn’t Here:

Just because I was sick it didn’t keep me from typing my fingers off around the web.

I had two posts on Craft Test Dummies this week: 1) The Creative Goddess’ Top 10 Uses for an Awl in Crafting and 2) Jewelry Book Review: 30 Minute Rings by Marthe Le Van I hope you’ll go check them out and leave a comment or two. I’d love to know what ways you use an awl in your crafting.

And because I’ve been cleaning up so much the past few weeks I also spent some time adding goodies to my etsy shop. My goal is to add 2-3 things a day and try to sell off some of the surplus supplies, samples and other goodies I have. After all, my hosting fees will be due soon!

Well, I think that’s about it. I may have been sick but I was still fairly productive. I hope you’ve had a fabulous week wherever you are!

      Hi Linda,

I need to do a post about the pickles. My family loved them! Me, not so much. Oh well.
Good luck going back to work. I hope it’s a job you look forward to? The first couple of days are always the hardest. ;)
